OUR POSITION STATEMENT:

We make more than $250,000 per year in income and are willing to pay additional taxes.  Many of us own small businesses.

In a period of unprecedented and increasing national debt, we recognize that the only path to debt reduction requires a combination of BOTH control of spending AND increase in revenues.   Those familiar with the issues recognize this necessity.

In recent years, we in the uppermost tax bracket have received a disproportionate benefit from the Bush tax reductions.   Continuance of those tax reductions for the uppermost bracket will increase both the deficit and the ultimate debt burden carried by other taxpayers.  In a time of national need and and also recognizing the need to ensure the strength of our nation for our children, and children’s children, we believe it is time for us to return to the contributions we made previously.  Any sacrifice we would make is small relative to the current, very real struggles faced by our fellow Americans.
